War for the Overworld

3Dmigoto 3D Vision DX11 Fix
Last Updated:  October 31, 2018

What this fix does:
- Fixes lights, shadows & various haloing issues.
- Added 3 convergence presets on the Caps Lock key. Use the lowest convergence preset when you are in 1st person mode.
- Places HUD & UI at a fixed depth (The depth value can be changed in the d3dx.ini file).

Remaining Issue:
- Fog of war looks incorrect

Installation:
1)  Download this ZIP file and extract the contents into the directory "..\War for the Overworld\"

2a) For the Steam version:
  • In your Steam library, right click on "War for the Overworld" and select "Properties"
  • Click "Set Launch Options"
  • In the box, type:  -window-mode exclusive
  • Click "Ok"
2b). For the GOG version:
  • Run the game using the included shortcut "WFTOGame- 3Dmigoto.bat".

Additional Notes:
- HUD & UI depth, convergence preset keybinding and associated convergence values can be changed in the d3dx.ini file. If you want to see what the current convergence is while in-game, press the 'Number Pad 0' key. The convergence will be in green text at the bottom.

  1. This game appears to be updated for dx11 and the game no longer starts in 3d, you must use the -Forcedx9 switcher to make it kick in, this fix also appears to be broken in terms of the shadows or ambient occulison which you cannot turn off.

  2. Starting the game (with the command) 3d kicks in. However it turns off just before the main menu kicks on.. Not sure if it doesn't like my 1440p resolution or what the problem is..

    1. Hi. 3D is working ok for me. But it seems that the fix was broken by a game update. I'll make a DX11 version of this fix.

    2. I was able to get it working once but starting in window mode then switching to fullscreen, but a new DX11 version sounds great!!

  3. Fantastic, thanks! The only problem I seem to have is a strange double vision with the dungeon heart and similar center of the room graphics and lighting (such as the burning sticks on the walls)

  4. It seems this game not supporting 3Dmigoto SBS/TB Mode, right?

    1. It might. The fix file here is somewhat out of date, so getting SBS enabled is first step. Use the 3DFM, top left of this page, update to latest 3Dmigoto, and have it enable the SBS shader here. "Enable alternative 3D format."

    2. I did (I can see "include = ShaderFixes\3dvision2sbs.ini" in the d3dx.ini), but SBS is not working when I start the game :(

    3. And you changed the x7 parameter or used F11 to cycle through the variants?

  5. Yes. This game start with Checkerboard mode. Press F11 can't change anything. My other games work fine with 3Dmigoto SBS/TB Mode. That's weird.

    1. Worth trying to set the default value to SBS in the ShaderFixes/3dvision2sbs.ini. But, coming up in checkerboard is weird, because the SBS does not do checkerboard. That suggests that you have checkerboard enabled elsewhere, most likely in nvidia control panel.
